New Jersey Transit updates Website
November 3rd, 2009 by NJ Websites Developed
New Jersey's "NJ Transit" unit and the Port Authority of NJ have launched new websites they claim are consumer friendly. At this stage they are clearly not search engine friendly, so either they have plans to improve that or the new sites will be more difficult for consumers to locate.
They do include Google maps and new trip planners, which should help travelers.
Also interesting is the use of a dot info domain by the Port Authority. Historically, dot info domains have performed poorly in search engines, largely because they were very low cost and heavily used as "throw away" domains by spammers and scammers. The new Port Authority site is here.
